Persistence Pays – Keep at it!

Tuesday, March 30th, 2010

I was talking to one of my multi-millionaire friends today and one of the many things he talked about is how being persistent will allow you to achieve whatever it is you want. Persistence pays, and pays in huge returns. Just hearing that really made me feel good.

Your Fortune

Your Persistence Fortune

You see, it’s easy to feel bad and to work as hard as you can and come to expect great results and then have those great ideas wither away like a dying flower in late summer. It’s harder to find something to keep you going when you shake your head in disbelief because things didn’t work out the way you expected them to. To make things worse, you bragged to everyone again about how well you are going to do, to find out that the idea you implemented turned out to be another bomb. Don’t you hate that?

But the fact is that a lot of ideas won’t work out and you just need to work until you find the one that does. That’s what I’m doing and have been doing for over 20 years. You can make it too.

For some, it won’t take very long. For others it will take a long time. However, what is a long time? To a dish cooking on the stove on a medium high temperature, 2 minutes exceeding the done time is too long. However, for building from scratch a rocket to get to the moon and back 10 years is pretty fast.

So what if it took 20 years to achieve your goals and dreams? For a lot of people it won’t, but what if it did? I say big deal. One of my mentors once said, “We’re going to be here anyway.” Life’s going to pass anyway, so don’t worry or be bothered by it. Would you rather achieve your goals and dreams at the end of 20 years or not at all? I think we all know the answer to that and in order to get there, we must never give up!

Remember, a failure is not a failure unless you give up. It is instead a lesson learned on our journey to success. Keep going and find a support system or create one that supports you reaching your goals and dreams. Like this web site or a friend, or an organization like the List Building Club, or a mastermind group and so on. Find someone who believes in you and believes in your dreams and goals and this will help you in being persistent. I say to you right now, never give up on yourself or your goals. Be persistent.

We’ll talk again real soon.

You are incredible,

Well, that didn’t happen because Z wasn’t going to allow it to happen. Find out this week on the Ask Mister Self Help Tele-seminar series what can be learned through Z’s experience, like Never Give Up among others. Here is a quick video to introduce her to you:

Inspirational and Motivational – I Felt Like Crying

Wednesday, February 24th, 2010

I am a very emotional person, even so I don’t cry very often. Usually if at all, it’ll be at a good sad movie that you’ll hear a whine coming from the audience that embarrasses my family. But today was different. I’m sure everyone as people has felt the pain that life can sometimes provide like when a loved one dies or you lose your home or you can’t make your payments or the struggles of life just seem to be too much. As a man, at least for me, these kinds of times are infrequent of which I am grateful for because they are so hard to deal with. I think of crying. I think of time alone to just try and pull things together. I think of praying.

Find Strength in Your Feelings

Now if none of that helps, then there are the old standby things to try like, thinking about all you are grateful for, or putting a good self-improvement audio on or reading something inspirational, perhaps playing your favorite songs, and so on. Life is so short and true winners minimize these troubled times as much as they can in order to keep moving in the direction of reaching their goals and dreams. But there are real times in your life when you are experiencing true feelings of sadness and as such they can’t be discredited or overlooked.

They need to be acknowledged them for what they are. Writing is such a powerful tool to help you through these times. One of my mentors Chris Cade has helped me to find more meaning through writing and you may want to check out his work too. You can write anything you want. You can write what you feel or why you feel the way you do. You can write until you have nothing more to say. You can speak from your heart. And I encourage you to keep those thoughts, as they are yours and you can re-visit them as you journey through your life.

As you may know, I am on my way to making the success I desire in my life. I’m doing it with you and I’m here to help you in any way I can. We are going to make it together. That is my dream for you. Please let me know what I can do to help you in reaching your dreams and goals. I really mean it because I believe when you take the focus off yourself and place it on others, that your sadness can be replaced with a meaningful life that gives hope to living a happy life, because your life’s work is for a worthy cause and not a selfish one.

See what you can do for someone else that needs you or is in a time of need. You will experience one of the most beautiful rewards life has to offer. The reward of helping others. I recall a friend of mine calling me recently in need and he was so glad that I just picked up the phone and would listen to his hurting and provide some guidance in getting him back to being a productive and happy person again. Friend, that’s what makes life so grand. Being able to help that person, because some day it might be you. Now I cry no more, for I have purpose.

But the truth is, if you strive to reach your dreams and goals that you will meet more disappointments than if you don’t, and that means more hurting too. But regardless if you strive to be all you can be or not, we are all human and will meet sadness and pain headlong sooner and later. Reality is, to not live your dream life is more painful than doing what it takes to realize and live the life you really want.

I wish you strength and peace as you recover from the difficulties life has to offer you. My suggestion to you is to not pray for things to be easier but for you to become stronger to deal with difficulties. We grow through challenges, not through the mundane.

Have a great week and we’ll talk soon,

Kevin Levine (Mister Self Help)
