We recently stayed at this rental near Kentucky Lake for a laid-back birthday getaway with family, our good friend Lora, and our dog, Sarge. It was a peaceful few days surrounded by people (and pets) we love, and the slower pace gave us a much-needed chance to unwind and just enjoy each other. The house we stayed in was clean and comfortable, set in a quiet, rural area that made it easy to relax. One unexpected highlight of the trip was watching Sarge make some new furry friends! He was fascinated by the horse, Tonka and got the chance to play with a couple of other dogs on the property. Seeing his excitement and curiosity was such a fun part of the trip and added some extra joy to our stay. While the house didn’t have a lake view, the real value came from the time spent together—sharing meals, catching up, and just being present with one another. It was a simple, meaningful way to celebrate, and we left with full hearts and happy memories.
