As I sit at my desk and write this contribution I can’t help but look at the faces of my children as there pictures stare at me and I think how fortunate I am to have them in my life. These people along with my wonderful Wife compose my fantastic immediate family. They are the real treasures in my life followed by extended family and friends. I can’t help but think such great thoughts about my loved ones and I’m sure you feel the same about your family.
I suggest that when the tough times come and we find ourselves feeling perhaps less than 100% that we use the powerful joyful loving thoughts our family gives to us to help overcome these troubling times. The truth is misfortunate and personal growth learning times will pass and make us stronger and better for having experienced them. However, why not utilize the tools we have, one of which is our love for our family to help ease those difficult times and more quickly find ourselves back on the train to success.
I find for me that when things get most difficult it isn’t actually all bad as we become better from having traveled through them. Sometimes I can find myself either slowed down or temporarily paralyzed in moving forward doing the things I need to do in order to reach my goals. Minimizing the “down” time makes us more efficient in getting where we want to go and moves us forward in making our goals a reality. One of the best sources of power in reaching our goals can come from the love we give and receive from our family. This power can also provide us with the strength to carry on when we feel exhausted too.
Sometimes difficult times can provide motivation in getting a job or task done because you want the pain or discomfort of not yet having completed the task to end. Also the rewards and positive feeling you enjoy by having done the task and in moving you closer to reaching your goals can help in alleviating those discomforts. Think about how you feel after having cleaned up a mess. Fixing the negative and enjoying the positive that results in having done the fixing is a best scenario and fortunately, I’ve found this to be the case more times than not. But when you don’t find yourself motivated by difficulty, reach out to the joyful thoughts your family provides and savor them until you feel better.
May peace be with you on your travels and I thank you.
