Self Improvement: Where Does Your Lush Green Grass Grow?

As I strolled to get the daily mail from my mail box, I couldn’t help but notice how the grass of a neighbors yard no longer had the beauty it had several years back as new owners took a different approach to caring for it. I recall how lush green and beautiful the grass was several years ago and remember the owner applying something to it that was sure to continue giving its healthy look. Today though, it has missing spots where no grass lives and more weeds than anything else. What’s missing? They water it everyday. What happened to turn a practical masterpiece into an ugly eye sore?

Where Will Your Green Grass Take You To?

Where Will Your Green Grass Take You To?

It was an attitude change from one owner to the next. The previous owner had an attitude of taking good care of the lawn by giving it what it needed to bring forth beauty and health. Where as the current owner neglected the lawn almost entirely, or so it looked. The current owner didn’t have an attitude that matched that of the previous owner and so they got different results.

Now, having a green lush beautiful lawn may not be important to you as it is with the current owner of the property I speak of and that’s ok. We all have ideals and beliefs that determine what is important to us. I bring this to your attention today because I want you to reflect on what you are making more green, lush, and beautiful in your life right now. It may be that you are doing excellent and working and cultivating that which you really want and desire in your life, and if so, awesome. However, I suspect if we look deep within ourselves we can find some area that needs changing that doesn’t harmonize with those great ideals and beliefs we hold close to our hearts. And if we don’t make a change to remove them, then we do 2 things that are destructive to us:

1) We take away nutrition from the things we want to cultivate and make more green, lush, and beautiful because of our limited resource of time
2) We cultivate a greener more lush and beautiful undesired result, which we don’t want or like and creates a more undesired life

How do you determine where you’re growing your grass green and where you are creating a desert? By being honest with yourself and determining where you are spending your time and effort. Where you are laying fertilizer, weed killer, aerating, and regular maintenance is where you will create your green lush and beautiful lawn. These are also known as your priorities, because your most important priorities are what you give your time, energy, effort and attention to. Is what you are giving your time, energy, effort, and attention to going to lead to your living a happy life? Don’t get caught up with making the weeds greener and thriving so well that they reach your waist. Dig them up, throw them away, and plant new grass seeds that will give you the life you truly desire.

Thanks everyone and have a blessed day,

Kevin

Create The Habit Of Success

I’ve been working on myself utilizing the tools of great books, recordings, seminars and association. I understand how finding time for these most important experiences can sometimes be a daunting accomplishment.

I remember being told to read 10 minutes or a chapter a night from a great self-help book to make significant progress in helping to reach your goals and dreams. This information will fuel your attitude and help to drive you in obtaining all that you want. Sometimes I don’t feel like putting in 10 minutes or reading a chapter on a daily basis.

Read Something Great Before Bed Time

Read Something Great Before Bed Time

You could say to yourself, “I’ll do it tomorrow” and get no benefit for the day. However, this can be very detrimental to your habit forming behavior and to your success. Here is what I find works better. I may not want to take 10 minutes to grow by reading on a particular day, yet to overcome the destructive force of not doing it I suggest and have implemented reading just 2 pages everyday. I can always read 2 pages every night before I retire and can always read more if I’m so inclined to do so. The key here is creating and keeping the habit of giving to yourself that which you need and will help you to reach and achieve your goals and dreams.

You’ve probably heard how important it is to do this activity just upon laying down for the day. Here are the benefits of taking the action of reading 2 pages a night just before retiring:

1) You keep the promise to yourself of life long continuous improvement
2) You create and keep the habit of feeding your brain valuable information
3) During your resting hours your mind churns the great learning acquired from the material you read
4) The results of doing this will lead to a happier life filled with more peace and with more tools to deal with day to day challenges

This is a solution to give you the best opportunity at reaching your goals and dreams. Also, doing so provides a solution to the problem of feeling too exhausted or feeling that you don’t have the time to make feeding your brain a reality on a daily basis. The fact is your brain needs as much feeding as your body and if you don’t feed it with great thoughts it becomes a receptacle for garbage thoughts. The results of which will spell disaster in being a goal reaching person. What would happen if you didn’t feed your body for a day or several days? It atrophies. So does your brain. You’re moving forward or moving backward, increasing in wisdom or decreasing to ignorance. The choice is up to you, and you wouldn’t be reading this if you didn’t want the finer things in life.

Thank you and have a great day!

Kevin

The Law of Detachment

I found watching “The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success” DVD By Deepak Chopra and featuring Olivia Newton-John very interesting and well done. There was one law that I found really resonated with me as I had experienced a recent example of that law working in my life.

This year I have been working on list building marketing techniques to help bring my message and learning to you. When having started my website presence, I decided to share my journey to success to help inspire, create a connection between you and I and let you know I’m in the same situation as you are, namely working on my dreams and goals. I encourage you to share with me what you have accomplished, will accomplish, and any challenges along the way. My email address is kevlev@beliefequalspossibility.com.

Earlier this year a contest to find the list building spokesperson for Tellman Knudsen’s List Building Club and a Ferrari 360 spider car prize was being offered. For me, the challenge was to see what I could accomplish because I was new to internet marketing. I really didn’t “believe” I could win the contest when I started because I didn’t have any experience, knowledge, and hadn’t even started anything internet related. I talk about this in detail in my YouTube List Building Spokesperson contest video on the right panel at http://beliefequalspossibility.com. It wasn’t until “Belief Equals Possibility Giveaway” was launched that I started to believe I could win the contest.

LBC Spokesperson Contest Ferrari

LBC Spokesperson Contest Ferrari

The contest was set-up that you either win the car or you don’t and if you don’t there isn’t anything more you will receive except the experience from your efforts based on your accomplishments. Keep in mind the experience from having accomplished tasks is invaluable and in and of itself is enough of a reward to anyone who is serious about building a successful internet marketing business. So as I understood, bottom line is you either win the car and become the spokesperson or you get nothing at all.

Within a weeks time here is what happened:
• Confirmed I didn’t win the contest and I accepted this fact
• Created an interest in finding out what the winner had done to see what I could learn from his efforts
• Expressed my gratitude to Tellman’s organization having put on the contest as it really helped me to do the best work possible combined with my inner drive to be successful (as mentioned in my YouTube video)
• Honored by Tellman’s organization by being invited to be a List Building Club Ambassador of which was only offered to a handful of people

Here’s the point, and a summary of the Law of Detachment. I really wanted to win the contest as I not only worked as hard as I could to win it, but also knew I earned it by having done so. I detached myself from not having won the contest and I continued to work on my next project. Then within hours of my detachment I was invited to be a List Building Club Ambassador. This new honor is going to have a profound impact on my ability to help more people and become a better internet marketing marketer. Yet, it didn’t happen until I detached myself from the contest of which I wanted to win more than almost anything. This is a perfect example of the Law of Detachment, which is emotionally accepting a situation or result regardless of the outcome especially when you deeply desire a specific outcome instead of letting it work itself out naturally.

In my minds eye, I believe I have won the contest even though I have not because I will gain all the benefits as if I had; only I didn’t win the car or become the List Building Club spokesperson. Having been honored in this manner ranks as one of the best days of my life, because it is. But, I didn’t get to that honor until I detached myself from the List Building Spokesperson contest itself.

Thanks for listening,

Kevin

Inscribe Your Life

Inscribe Your Life

I just finished watching a video I think you’ll enjoy.

It’s refreshingly different… and not your typical hyped “Law of Attraction” stuff. Check it out and see how a simple shift in the way you see conflict can change EVERYTHING for you.

“How Can Conflict Get Me My Happy Ending?”

Click Here Now To View Conflict Video

The video comes from Chris Cade, creator of Inscribe Your Life. He’s been using story as a path for self-discovery and spiritual growth. His unique approach has changed his life and the lives of those he coaches.

I’ve never seen anyone approach personal development quite like this and I have to say it’s fascinating and exciting. We all love stories! We relish getting lost in Shakespeare’s star-crossed lovers, George Lucas’ galactic battles, or the magic of Harry Potter.

What if we could use story to get ourselves from where we are now to our own storybook ending… the same way these magnificent authors get their heroes to their happy endings?

Chris Cade Shows Us How.

Click Here Now To View Conflict Video

Because stories work just like life does: they’re only satisfying when our hero encounters and trumps conflict.

Conflict is what makes a hero – what allows him (or her) to discover who he is and what he’s made of. There’s no happy ending without it.

You can use conflict to achieve YOUR storybook ending as well! It’s only when we run away from it that it can defeat us.

Grab Your One Way Ticket to Success!

When you grab this Free Video you’ll also receive two additional bonuses:

* An inspirational story video (think Chicken Soup for the Soul)

* A leaked chapter from Chris’ new spiritual writing package, Inscribe Your Life, about how to overcome your doubts and fears.

Hope you enjoy them! I sure have.

Cheers,

Kevin

The Truth Is My Boss Loved Me

I remember at the age of 27 when I had just finished college, how different a person I was as compared to today. At the time I was 1 to 2 years away from beginning my life long journey towards committed daily self improvement and personal growth. Even though I wasn’t quite ready for that journey, I was unknowingly preparing myself to get there.

At that time, I thought I was a “very important person”, well that’s a nice way of putting it. I had an ego, thinking I was a college graduate and unless you were like me you weren’t very important. Let’s just say I had very shallow thinking at that time.

Fortunately with that attitude my first corporate experience awakened and humbled me to my misguided thinking. I joined at the time a small computer networking company that was to become one of the largest companies in the world. I was hired as an Electronic Technician because one of my college colleagues had been hired to do the same work of which management liked and they were looking for more folks like him. I was so naive and ignorant to believe if I did the same work and followed in my friend’s same footsteps that I would receive the same success that he had enjoyed. That wasn’t the case, most likely because of my poor attitude and perhaps other factors. Not obtaining what I felt I deserved in the corporate world left me very bitter and disappointed.

Save Yourself From Yourself

Save Yourself From Yourself

Looking back, I can see most likely management was right and I was wrong, especially with my huge ego and lack of people skills. But at the time I didn’t see it that way. My manager told me there were books and tools out there to help me. I replied in my mind that he had the problem and I was fine, so he ought to take his own advice. The truth is my boss loved me enough to know what I needed and I wasn’t quite ready to realize that and run with it. I again had stooped to shallow thinking. My frustration led me to looking at ways to get off the corporate train I had just got on. In other words, I began to look for a way to gain my freedom from a job and to make my own way by being my own boss.

So when I was approached by someone to join a multi-level marketing opportunity I was ready and liked what I heard. That’s when I found out you have to work on yourself in order to be able to work effectively with others and with others anything is possible.

I began working on myself through self improvement books, CDs, and association with positive people who were doing the same self-help learning I was doing and slowly I began to change for the better. I learned how to be happy and became a very happy and positive person. My relationships improved dramatically and my outlook on life was of excitement and gratitude. I’ve never stopped learning and growing and I never will. This new habit became one of the greatest gifts I’ve ever received and I gave it to myself.

I wish that you too can find peace and happiness that helps to bring joy to your life. May you be blessed with a healthy, safe, and long life.

Find Power In Our Greatest Treasures

As I sit at my desk and write this contribution I can’t help but look at the faces of my children as there pictures stare at me and I think how fortunate I am to have them in my life. These people along with my wonderful Wife compose my fantastic immediate family. They are the real treasures in my life followed by extended family and friends. I can’t help but think such great thoughts about my loved ones and I’m sure you feel the same about your family.

Stay Focused And Win With Family

Stay Focused And Win With Family

I suggest that when the tough times come and we find ourselves feeling perhaps less than 100% that we use the powerful joyful loving thoughts our family gives to us to help overcome these troubling times. The truth is misfortunate and personal growth learning times will pass and make us stronger and better for having experienced them. However, why not utilize the tools we have, one of which is our love for our family to help ease those difficult times and more quickly find ourselves back on the train to success.

I find for me that when things get most difficult it isn’t actually all bad as we become better from having traveled through them. Sometimes I can find myself either slowed down or temporarily paralyzed in moving forward doing the things I need to do in order to reach my goals. Minimizing the “down” time makes us more efficient in getting where we want to go and moves us forward in making our goals a reality. One of the best sources of power in reaching our goals can come from the love we give and receive from our family. This power can also provide us with the strength to carry on when we feel exhausted too.

Sometimes difficult times can provide motivation in getting a job or task done because you want the pain or discomfort of not yet having completed the task to end. Also the rewards and positive feeling you enjoy by having done the task and in moving you closer to reaching your goals can help in alleviating those discomforts. Think about how you feel after having cleaned up a mess. Fixing the negative and enjoying the positive that results in having done the fixing is a best scenario and fortunately, I’ve found this to be the case more times than not. But when you don’t find yourself motivated by difficulty, reach out to the joyful thoughts your family provides and savor them until you feel better.

May peace be with you on your travels and I thank you.

What’s Your Goal? What Do You Really Want?

I really enjoy and value self-help expert, author, and speaker Brian Tracy who wrote partially paraphrased “Every peak-performing man or woman is motivated by compelling, burning, internal goals. Our subconscious mind goes to work immediately on goals we write out and think about continuously to make them a reality.”

I realize we all want certain things in our lives and as high goal achievers we aren’t completely satisfied with everything we have which prompts us to desire something

Believe A Great Life For Yourself

Believe A Great Life For Yourself

more. That’s one aspect of our lives that makes us special and positively contributes to our existence. The great news is we can have, do, and accomplish anything we set our minds to and are willing to focus on long and hard enough until they become our new reality. This great news makes me so happy and excited because I know there is nothing I can’t change in a positive way. When I think about it, I become inflamed with enthusiasm.

Our lives and the world we make for ourselves is good because of these universal truths. The decision we have to make is what is it we really want and are willing to fight for by doing the needful actions allowing us to accomplish our goals. Primarily because our lives are short and finite, we only have time to complete a limited number of goals. Choose them carefully. If we stay focused and true to our goals they will be ours in some indiscriminate hour when we least expect it.

I’m going to leave you with a real TREAT! This little ditty is from another one of my favorite self improvement experts, Bob Proctor. He explains how to know if the goal you are reaching for is really the right one:

“You should proceed immediately to set a goal, so big, so exhilarating it excites and scares you at the same time. It must be a goal so appealing and in harmony with your spiritual core that you cannot get it out of your mind. This goal must be one that will dominate your thinking all you’re waking hours. It is a goal you must commit to. It is so spectacular that you will instantly relate to a renowned psychologist who said, ‘I am grateful to the idea that has used me.’ Set a goal that you are willing to trade the days of your life for.”

Until we talk again, may you achieve all your goals and enjoy the journey.
