What’s Your Goal? What Do You Really Want?

I really enjoy and value self-help expert, author, and speaker Brian Tracy who wrote partially paraphrased “Every peak-performing man or woman is motivated by compelling, burning, internal goals. Our subconscious mind goes to work immediately on goals we write out and think about continuously to make them a reality.”

I realize we all want certain things in our lives and as high goal achievers we aren’t completely satisfied with everything we have which prompts us to desire something

more. That’s one aspect of our lives that makes us special and positively contributes to our existence. The great news is we can have, do, and accomplish anything we set our minds to and are willing to focus on long and hard enough until they become our new reality. This great news makes me so happy and excited because I know there is nothing I can’t change in a positive way. When I think about it, I become inflamed with enthusiasm.

Our lives and the world we make for ourselves is good because of these universal truths. The decision we have to make is what is it we really want and are willing to fight for by doing the needful actions allowing us to accomplish our goals. Primarily because our lives are short and finite, we only have time to complete a limited number of goals. Choose them carefully. If we stay focused and true to our goals they will be ours in some indiscriminate hour when we least expect it.

I’m going to leave you with a real TREAT! This little ditty is from another one of my favorite self improvement experts, Bob Proctor. He explains how to know if the goal you are reaching for is really the right one:

“You should proceed immediately to set a goal, so big, so exhilarating it excites and scares you at the same time. It must be a goal so appealing and in harmony with your spiritual core that you cannot get it out of your mind. This goal must be one that will dominate your thinking all you’re waking hours. It is a goal you must commit to. It is so spectacular that you will instantly relate to a renowned psychologist who said, ‘I am grateful to the idea that has used me.’ Set a goal that you are willing to trade the days of your life for.”

Until we talk again, may you achieve all your goals and enjoy the journey.
